If it happened that an acquaintance fell sick, R’ Nosson Zvi knew no rest.  He prayed, he was upset, he sent people to care for the sick person and to stay by the bedside, he found out which doctors were experts in that disease and what medicines helped, and he did not take his mind off it.

    I think that these days WE have to MAKE ourselves like that. For sure, back in the early 1900s life was much more simple. Less conveniences than we have to day, but learning and one’s approach to Avodas Hashem was more pashut, simple.

    Nowadays, I find all the lines are fudged, nothing is clear-cut, and that’s why there are so many different branches of Yiddishkeit. It really upsets me…
